The trail starts here. Before the boots go on, before the pack is shouldered, before the first step — there is this. The moment the sun breaks over the ridge and sets the whole wilderness on fire.
Strange Trails Wilderness Daybreak captures the raw drama of first light over a mountain wilderness — blazing amber and gold streaming through ancient pine forest, mist rising off a still river valley below, a trail leading forward into the kind of morning that makes you remember exactly why you come out here.
No aliens. No jokes. Just the wilderness at its most honest and overwhelming.
This is the poster for the wall above your gear rack. The one you look at in February when the trails are buried and the itch to get back out there becomes almost unbearable. The one that reminds you what you're planning for.

From Concept to Field Issue
Illustration & Design
Every badge, print, and patch begins as hand-drawn artwork in our studio. We reference vintage National Parks Service documentation, topographic maps, and field sketches from actual wilderness surveys.
Material Selection
We test blanks from multiple manufacturers against field conditions: wash cycles, UV exposure, abrasion from pack straps, and temperature extremes. Only materials that survive our standards become part of the catalog.
On-Demand Production
Each order is printed individually in our Pacific Northwest facility. This eliminates overproduction waste and ensures every piece receives individual quality inspection before packing.
Field Verification
Selected items are issued to our volunteer field team for real-world testing. Feedback from actual wilderness observation posts informs updates to sizing, fabric weight, and print placement.
All cotton blanks are sourced from manufacturers certified under the Better Cotton Initiative. Water-based screen print inks eliminate PVC and phthalates. Archival poster papers are FSC-certified and acid-free.
